HMGA2

Differentiated liposarcoma markers

Proteins of the High Mobility Group (HMG) are transcription factors expressed during embryonic development and are absent in normal adult tissues. This family is composed of three proteins: HMGI, HMGA2 (also known as HMGI-C) and HMGI (Y).

HMGA2 is expressed in neoplastic tissues and appears to have a role in the cell growth, differentiation and tumorigenesis. This protein is expressed in tumor tissue but not expressed in surrounding healthy tissue.
