Over 90% of granulocytes, including neutrophilic and eosinophilic granulocytes, express CD15. As for monocytes, they express CD15 to minor degree.
Some epithelial cells are also positively labeled for CD15
CD15 is expressed on Reed-Sternberg cells, including their rare mononuclear variants.
As a result, detection of CD15 by immunohistochemistry is used to diagnose Hodgkin's disease.
